Epiphany
- A Christian feast celebrating the manifestation of the divine nature of Jesus to the Gentiles as represented by the Magi.
- January 6, on which this feast is traditionally observed.
- A festival in Christianity celebrating the visit of the Wise Men to the infant Jesus. Epiphany means “a showing forth” — in this case a showing forth of Jesus to the Gentiles.
I remember as a child what the ephiphany was. I lived in Puerto Rico and couldn't understand that Santa didn't exist and Christmas was not a celebration of gifts. Puerto Rico celebrates,
" Los Reyes". So we quickly learned that the three wise men come to visit your home with camels and bring you gifts, just like they did to baby Jesus. How wonderful! It truly made so much for sense.
So Happy Ephiphany!!!
One last thing... do you wait to take your tree down until after the Epiphany!?
